The mining companies will tend to go up in stock value as the price of metals go up.


You should never put most your money in metals. You should put a small percent of the money you make in gold, becasue of inflation. In the long run gold will probably for sure go up since there is a limited supply in the world. Whatever type of gold investing online you do or otherwise buy it and hang onto it for emergencies or in retirement investing fund.

The simple thing that I do, is buying shares in that gold trust with a small portion of the money I make. I don't even look at the price I just buy some shares of it and leave it alone. I know that even years down the road gold will hold it's value since it's always been worth something since the beginning of time!
