smart investment brokers for investing in the stock market

Many times in this site I talk about how I think it is foolish to hire someone else to do investments for you, but I know that in some cases some people will not be able to handle their own investing and will need to hire a broker of sorts like a stock broker, investment adviser, or a professional investor to help them. The first thing your broker or adviser should reveal to you is what assets he or she is buying, and how much of a percent will be going into each of the assets they choose. In my opinion a smart investment broker will put your money into securities that are of high market capital or large cap stocks, but the large caps must be at a reduced PRICE when most people are selling. This philosophy seems to breed the best results with the least amount of risk in the long run if you are not managing your account. For instance a few months ago I saw a large cap stock that is well known just a while ago. It was less than 20 dollars a share. I thought about it and it made no sense to me that a bank this large that grew into so many states was this low of a price. Soon enough I was right, they posted a halfway good article about how their earnings were not that bad and they soared back up within days. bank stocks

What other traits do smart investors have

investing in index fundsThe next thing that you want to look for in your broker is how often they tell you how well your portfolio is doing. Almost always if they aren't telling you how well your investments are then they are doing something wrong and they are doing a poor job or your portfolio because it is not beating even the general market with your brokers market strategy. As investment brokers know though, it's never good to report the bad news but only the good news about what they are doing with your money. If all your broker is doing is throwing you money into a lot of large cap companies that ARE NOT CHEAP in price they will probably just be doing about as good as the S&P 500. Then they will tell you your portfolio has gone up 5% when in fact so has the market and this isn't good news at all really. This leads me to my next point and that is make sure that you know that the information that your broker gives you is as good as it sounds or make sure you understand what he or she is saying and make sure you know your investment broker well. smart stock investing
